Hospital Manager, Soweto

Our client is seeking a young and dynamic hospital manager for a day facility in Soweto. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing a hospital strategy that is in line with the overall group directives and will oversee and co-ordinate administrative and operational functions of the hospital. It will be imperative to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the facility and provide a high quality patient centered environment, whilst maintaining compliance with regulations and optimizing resource utilization.

Education, Qualifications and Experience

  • A relevant 3 year Bachelor's Degree or related qualification equivalent to an NQF level 7.
  • A Post Graduate degree or related NQF level 8 qualification will be advantageous.
  • 5+ years' experience in a Senior Managerial position, preferably in a hospital environment and/or service- related environment.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans in collaboration with senior leadership to achieve organizational goals.
  • Analyze market trends, doctor activities, and patient needs to inform decision-making.
  • Provide strategic direction and implement key performance areas for the business unit.

Financial Management:

  • Budget development and management to ensure financial sustainability.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimize revenue streams.
  • Billing enquiries and billing accuracy, as well as Credit Control.
  • Develop and achieve financial objectives for the business unit, aligned to the Group targets.

Operational Oversight:

  • Supervise daily operations and Implement policies and procedures to enhance patient care and staff productivity.
  • Ensure best and safest patient care.
  • Stock management and control.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay abreast of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Ensure the hospital's compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Human Resources Management:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise staff members.
  • Provide timely guidance and feedback to direct reports to help strengthen skill areas and leverage potential.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for the respective teams aligned to the team's core function.
  • Establish the business unit to be an employer of choice to attract and retain the best talent to achieve group objectives.
  • Manage the performance and delivery of all direct reports.

Quality Assurance:

  • Establish and monitor quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of patient care.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.

Patient Relations:

  • Collaborate with medical staff to enhance patient experience, address concerns empathetically, and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador, fostering customer loyalty, attending events, and facilitating communication with various stakeholders to promote the hospital's services

Facility Maintenance:

  • Oversee the maintenance of the physical facility to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to address maintenance issues promptly.

Technology Integration:

  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve hospital operations.
  • Ensure the effective use of electronic health records and other healthcare management systems.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build positive relationships with the local community, doctors, patients, and stakeholders.
  • Represent the hospital at events and collaborate with community organizations.
