A private Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery practice in Amanzimtoti, KwaZulu-Natal is seeking to recruit a Medical Receptionist. The successful candidate will manage front office operations, patient coordination, theatre administration, and communication with the external billing bureau while ensuring a calm, professional, and patient focused experience.

Roles and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Act as an ambassador for the practice
  • Welcome patients in a polite, friendly, and professional manner
  • Maintain a neat and organised reception area
  • Manage calls, emails, text messages, and the practice inbox
  • Assist patients with completion of information forms
  • Manage appointment scheduling and diary coordination
  • Capture and update patient records on MedicAI
  • Type letters, reports, and general correspondence
  • Email scripts, documents, and patient information where required
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality
  • Process cash and credit card payments and issue receipts
  • Prepare and coordinate theatre lists
  • Arrange anaesthetist bookings and related theatre requirements
  • Manage hospital bed bookings and procedure logistics
  • Manage practice supplies and stock
  • Support general administrative duties within the practice

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a medical practice
  • Strong computer literacy and Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience with MedicAI advantageous
  • Knowledge of medical aid coding and billing advantageous
  • Experience with theatre bookings advantageous
  • Strong verbal and written English skills
  • Additional language skills advantageous
