Our client, a well-established specialist medical practice in Midstream, Centurion is seeking to recruit a highly organised, proactive, and reliable Medical Receptionist and Personal Assistant. This role is suited to an individual who thrives in a structured healthcare environment, demonstrates initiative, and is able to work independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism and patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all patient communication via telephone, WhatsApp, and email
  • Schedule in-patient and out-patient appointments, ensuring effective diary management
  • Liaise with medical aids, including benefit checks, chronic applications, and motivation letters
  • Assist with clinical support tasks, including connecting and downloading 24-hour blood pressure and ECG (Holter) monitors
  • Coordinate patient care, including hospital admissions and specialist referrals
  • Schedule appointments for medical representatives
  • Capture and maintain accurate patient information and open new patient files
  • Follow up on laboratory results and communicate basic feedback to patients
  • Utilise the My Patients app for inpatient management
  • Provide general administrative and practice support, including basic stock control
  • Assist the doctor with ad hoc personal assistant duties, including occasional errands
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to practice protocols

Qualification and Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a receptionist in a specialist medical practice (essential)
  • Experience with VeriClaim (advantageous)
  • Fluent in English and Afrikaans
  • Computer literate, including MS Office, email, scanning, and printing
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
  • Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and take initiative
  • High attention to detail and strong administrative ability
  • Professional, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality
  • Non-smoker
  • Own reliable transport and residing within reasonable proximity to the hospital

Work Hours:

Monday to Friday, 08h00 – 16h30
