A specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology practice in Midstream, Pretoria is seeking to recruit an experienced Medical Billing Administrator. The successful candidate will be organised, proactive, and capable of managing billing processes, reconciliations, authorisations, and related administrative functions within a fast paced private practice environment.
Roles and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Perform accurate medical aid billing using GoodX or similar medical software
- Maintain billing sheets and adjust procedure and consumable codes where required
- Update patient information on the practice management system
- Bill surgeries and submit claims to medical aids
- Manage reconciliations, billing queries, and follow up to resolution
- Coordinate assistant fees and manage network agreements with medical aids
- Process Workers' Compensation accounts and supporting documentation
- Reconcile remittances and related invoices
- Send patient accounts and manage debt collection processes
- Report collection progress to management
- Facilitate handovers to debt collection agencies where required
- Request medical aid authorisations and escalate delays when necessary
- Liaise with medical aids, patients, hospitals, and reception staff
- Update procedure and ICD10 codes with hospital case managers
- Compile patient cost estimates and obtain hospital estimates for private patients
- Source consumable suppliers, place orders, and manage supplier invoices
- Resolve supplier billing discrepancies
- Answer calls and handle patient queries professionally
- Maintain organised filing and administrative systems
- Provide reception support when required
Qualification and Requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12
- Experience in a similar medical billing or medical accounts role
- Strong knowledge of medical aid billing procedures and claims submission
- Knowledge of procedure coding, ICD10 coding, and medical terminology
- Understanding of POPIA, privacy regulations, and billing compliance requirements
- Experience with GoodX advantageous
- Obstetrics and Gynaecology billing experience advantageous
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English (verbal and written)

Work Hours:
Monday to Friday, 08h00 – 16h30
