Medical Typist, Malmesbury, Cape Town

Our client, a busy cardiology practice based in Malmesbury, is seeking to recruit an experienced Medical Typist for a high-volume practice environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate medical typing, administrative support, and assisting with the smooth daily operation of the practice. Previous experience within a medical practice is essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Dictation and typing of medical reports, feedback letters, motivations, and related correspondence
• Communicate with patients via phone, email, or SMS regarding doctor feedback
• Prepare patient files for upcoming appointments
• Update and maintain patient information accurately
• Obtain referral letters, medical notes, laboratory results, and radiology reports
• Provide patients with relevant forms and information for procedures, admissions, and operations
• Assist with weekly reporting and general administration
• Support the doctor with day-to-day administrative duties
• Liaise with service providers, suppliers, and external stakeholders
• Attend to reception duties when required
• Follow up on outstanding accounts when necessary

Qualification and Requirements:

• Matric
• Previous experience in a similar medical typist role is essential
• Experience within a medical practice is essential
• Computer literate, including MS Office
• Experience with GoodX advantageous
• Medical software experience will be an added advantage
