A specialist Cardiology practice in Fourways, Johannesburg is seeking to recruit an experienced Medical Receptionist. The role requires a professional and organised individual to manage patient coordination, front desk administration, and specialist practice support within a busy clinical environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answer calls professionally and ensure accurate message taking
  • Communicate with patients via phone, email, or SMS regarding doctor feedback
  • Manage appointment scheduling and outpatient bookings
  • Welcome patients and maintain a professional front desk environment
  • Prepare patient files for upcoming appointments
  • Verify and update patient information and open new patient accounts
  • Capture and update patient details on Vericlaim
  • Obtain referral letters and medical correspondence from external healthcare providers
  • Assist with obtaining laboratory and radiology results
  • Provide patients with required documentation for procedures and hospital admissions
  • Arrange hospital admissions including theatre and step down facilities
  • Plan and coordinate Cath Lab lists
  • Type dictated medical reports and correspondence
  • Process payments and allocate receipts accurately
  • Liaise with hospital departments and suppliers
  • Assist the doctor with general administrative duties

Qualification and Requirements:

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Experience in a similar medical receptionist role essential
  • Knowledge of ICD10 and RPL coding essential
  • Experience with medical billing advantageous
  • Computer literacy including MS Office
  • Experience with medical software beneficial
  • Experience with Elixir advantageous
