Medical Billing & Debtors Clerk Boland, Cape Town

Our client, a private medical group practice based in the Boland region of Cape Town, is seeking to appoint experienced Medical Billing & Debtors Clerk.

The successful incumbent is required to have advanced knowledge of ICD10 coding, an understanding of the working of medical aid schemes and debtors reconciliation in the medical practice environment as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Correct and accurate allocation of payments
  • Invoicing ad claims submissions
  • Processing refunds and journals
  • Debtors reconciliation
  • Data capturing
  • Submission of accounts to medical aids and private patients
  • Responsible for collection of outstanding accounts
  • Handling all patient and medical aid queries on accounts
  • Reconciliation of remittance advices
  • Collection of co-payments
  • Letters of motivation
  • Ad hoc reception duties as required e.g. patient referrals, typing patient notes


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Matric
  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar medical accounts role
  • Strong ICD10 knowledge
  • Experience in medical software will be advantageous
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
  • Afrikaans & English (verbal & written)

Hours:

Monday to Friday from 08h00 - 17h00


Start Date:

TBC (+/- mid November 2025)
