ImpactKare is partnering with a growing specialty healthcare organization in Edmond, Oklahoma, seeking a Clinic Financial Coordinator with strong diagnostic prior authorization experience. This is not a traditional front office or scheduling position—this role is centered around ensuring diagnostic services receive timely insurance approval so patients can move through their care without unnecessary delays.

Position Details

Location: Edmond, OK (Onsite)

Schedule:

  • Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire (Not Contracted Role)

What You'll Do

The primary responsibility of this position is managing the end-to-end diagnostic prior authorization process while ensuring patients, providers, and insurance companies remain aligned throughout the approval process.

Responsibilities include:

  • Obtain prior authorizations for diagnostic imaging, specialty procedures, testing, injections, and ancillary services
  • Review provider documentation to ensure medical necessity requirements are met prior to submission
  • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and payer-specific authorization requirements
  • Submit authorization requests through insurance portals, fax, or phone while monitoring for approval status
  • Follow up on pending authorizations to avoid delays in patient treatment
  • Coordinate with physicians, clinical staff, and insurance representatives regarding additional clinical documentation
  • Resolve authorization denials by gathering supporting documentation and assisting with appeals when appropriate
  • Review referrals and ensure all required documentation is complete before scheduling services
  • Accurately document all authorization activity within the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Communicate patient financial responsibility related to approved services
  • Coordinate patient scheduling once approvals have been received
  • Maintain compliance with payer guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and organizational policies
  • Collaborate with providers and clinical teams to ensure patients receive timely access to care

What We're Looking For Required Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of recent Diagnostic Prior Authorization experience
  • Hands-on experience obtaining authorizations for diagnostic imaging, specialty procedures, radiology, neurology, pain management, rheumatology, or other specialty services
  • Strong understanding of medical necessity guidelines and payer authorization requirements
  • Experience working with commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care plans
  • Experience verifying benefits and coordinating referrals
  • Proficiency working within an Electronic Health Record (EHR)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within a specialty physician practice
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and diagnosis-driven authorization requirements
  • Familiarity with insurance portals and electronic authorization systems
  • Prior experience working alongside providers to obtain clinical documentation supporting medical necessity
