Job Title: Patient Benefits Coordinator
Location: Edmond, OK
Pay Rate: $22 - $26 per hour
About the Role:
As a Clinical Patient Benefits Coordinator, you'll be the go-to expert for helping patients understand their insurance coverage and financial responsibilities. Your role is all about making the process smooth and stress-free for patients while ensuring accurate financial coordination. Youll work closely with healthcare providers and clinic staff to deliver clear, compassionate support.

Your Day-to-Day:
Schedule:
  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Insurance and Benefits Management:
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, including obtaining prior authorizations.
  • Accurately calculate patient financial responsibility.
  • Clearly communicate payment expectations and financial details to patients.
Referral and Authorization Coordination:
  • Process referrals and authorizations for services such as Radiology, Pain Management, and Neurology.
  • Maintain precise records of patient payments and third-party transactions.
Patient Scheduling and Communication:
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient communications efficiently.
  • Respond promptly to phone calls and voicemails with professionalism.
Financial Coordination and Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality.
  • Keep patient records up-to-date in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Team Collaboration:
  • Support your team with accurate information and clear communication.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented environment.
Your Expertise:
  • Strong understanding of commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer policies.
  • Skilled in handling referrals, authorizations, and pre-determinations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Your Skills:
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
Your Strengths:
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Efficient multitasking and time management.
  • Able to type at least 50 words per minute.
Must-Haves:
  • 1-2 years of experience in medical insurance, benefits verification, prior authorizations, or medical billing preferred.
  • An Associate's or Bachelors degree in healthcare, business, finance, or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to sit, perform data entry, and view computer screens for extended periods.
