Associate General Counsel | Remote Role
Our client, a biopharma organization focused on rare autoimmune disorders, is seeking an experienced legal professional to join its legal department. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, the Associate General Counsel will be instrumental in supporting the companys ongoing expansion and operations.
Role Overview
This is a senior legal position designed for someone who can handle a wide spectrum of legal responsibilities spanning regulatory, commercial, and corporate matters. The person in this role will serve as a strategic legal partner across the business, delivering clear, practical guidance in a highly regulated and fast-moving environment.
What Youll Do
- Regulatory Oversight
Stay ahead of evolving regulatory landscapes that impact company operations. Ensure leadership and relevant departments are well-informed on legal developments affecting the business. - Healthcare Compliance Programs
Contribute to the advancement of internal compliance structures. Design and deliver training on key legal topics such as ethical promotion, anti-bribery, anti-kickback regulations, and the companys internal code. Develop and refine internal policies to ensure the company operates within legal and ethical boundaries. - Contracting & Transactions
Prepare, review, and negotiate a broad range of agreements from clinical trial and licensing deals to manufacturing, vendor, research, and confidentiality contracts. - Commercial Legal Support
Partner with the commercial team to ensure legal oversight of marketing, promotional content, and advertising strategies. - Risk Identification & Mitigation
Spot legal risks tied to business decisions and help craft actionable strategies that protect the company while aligning with business goals. - Cross-Team Partnership
Collaborate across departments including R&D, Quality, HR, Finance, Regulatory, and Commercial to provide integrated legal counsel that supports innovation and compliance. - Leadership in Ethics & Compliance
Champion a workplace culture grounded in ethical conduct, transparency, and compliance. Act as a reliable advisor and example across the organization.
What You Bring
- Juris Doctor from a top-tier accredited institution; active bar membership in good standing.
- At least 10 years of legal experience within the biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry whether in-house or advising such companies from a law firm.
- Solid command of legal and regulatory systems that govern the biotech space.
- Proven ability to manage complex contracts and high-stakes negotiations relevant to the industry.
- Familiarity with global data privacy standards, including GDPR.
- Strong track record of delivering practical, business-minded legal advice in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across all organizational levels.
- High attention to detail, unwavering integrity, and sound judgment.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities effectively.
