PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To manage and control the implementation of construction projects, comprising multiple construction work packages at a project management level and manage supervisory construction personnel as per building standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 12/NQF Level 4 is essential
    • National Diploma or NQF Level 6 in Civil Engineering is essential
    • Project Management Qualification or PMP is desirable
    • 5 years working experience in civil engineering projects is essential
    • Additional 5 years mine construction projects experience is essential
    • Valid medical certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such certificate

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    • Manages multiple projects to ensure compliance with different regulations and other housing commitments
    • Effectively delivers according to the company/client scope, time, cost and quality
    • Complies and maintains a details project plan and ensures compliance as per plan
    • Manages effective allocation of resources to construction personnel and contractors
    • Maintains effective communication and negotiations with contractors and suppliers
    • Provides regular progress report to the clients and stakeholders on progress of the project
    • Ensures that construction planning and execution are always pro-active
    • Pro-actively provides alternative methods to be within the project schedule
    • Effectively manages and resolves onsite conflict to eliminate possible disruptions and delays on projects
    • Audit bill of quantities (BOQ) and benchmarks process where required
    • Compiles a detailed scope for each project to limit VCA's
    • Manages and maintains the effective contract administration through the entire project
