PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To efficiently manage the contractor process and ensure that they comply with various business objectives and legislation

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 certificate is essential.
  • BSc Mining Engineering / BEng (Mining) or other engineering qualification with relevant experience in mining AND/OR EPCM is essential
  • MBA/ Project Management qualification will be advantageous
  • Minimum of 5 years Managerial Mining experience with Project management experience and Practical experience in managing contract execution is essential

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To ensure quarterly and annual strategy reviews of the function and inform the business planning process.
  • To understand and balance the shaft requirement and contractor services offering in order to deliver the lowest total cost of ownership solution at Marula.
  • To monitor and report contractor performance based on all KPIs and SLAs including Financials, HR, and Procurement Transformation etc.
  • To ensure that contractors are accountable for timeously delivering a quality service within the business plan and their agreed contract scope.
  • To keep Marula stakeholders accountable to support and enable contractors to perform according to their contract scope.
  • To drive continuous improvement in the CMS space across Marula and at specific shafts.
  • To provide data and analyse to mining executives and GMs to enable better contractor performance.
  • To manage and lead the CMS Contractor Forum by creating and managing a platform for engaging with contractor companies on a monthly basis to resolve issues and highlight improvement opportunities.
  • To be responsible for the management of contractor mining companies throughout the CMS lifecycle (Appointment, Inductions and Medicals, Operations, Exit).
  • To be responsible for ensuring the Marula structures and services are utilised to enable an efficient contractor management process
