PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To conduct the surface survey to ensure correct representation of all infrastructure on survey plans as per legal and company requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 certificate (NQF Level 4) is essential.
- National diploma Mine Surveying/B-Tech Minerals Surveying is essential OR
- Advance Surveying and Valuation Certificate is essential.
- 3 years Surveying experience is essential
- Computer literacy MS Office package + MRM is essential.
- Valid medical certificate or be medically fit to obtain such a certificate.
COMPETENCIES:
- Understanding of different activities related to measurement field work
- Understanding of different activities relates to measurement administration
- Demonstrate basic understanding of different activities related to survey field work
- Demonstrate basic understanding of different activities related to survey administration
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Construct Surveyor Plans for Stoping and Development operations
- Update layouts on plans
- Determine areas to be surveyed
- Assign survey tasks to survey team members.
- Check and authorise Survey Notes
- Ensure Survey Plans comply with legal requirements
- Establish survey control and align drilling machines
- Using instruments, take readings to determine specified locations.
- Conduct Surveys to obtain data used in planning minging operations
- Draft Maps, drawings and create a database of survey date including development layout, production drill mark-ups and miscellaneous layouts.
- Update relevant maps, drawings and databases with any amended information
- Assist with feasibility assessment, considering appropriate criteria
- Direct and assist team members in use of electronic surveying equipment, systems, or other instruments to transfer surface surveyor positions and directions to underground areas and to survey designated locations.
- Compute survey and data, such as volumes of ore driving and connecting underground passages to control direction and extent of mining operations.
