PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To supervise the Sampling department to ensure that the appropriate standards are in place to enable accurate and timeous Grade Control and Ore Accounting reporting
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12 (with Mathematics) or NQF 4 equivalent is essential
- COM Advanced Valuation Certificate is essential
- COM Advanced Evaluation Certificate is advantageous
- 4-6 years' experience in coordinating sampling functions on a mine wide scale is essential
- A valid medical certificate or medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate
COMPETENCIES:
- Demonstrate knowledge of the various sampling techniques
- Demonstrate knowledge of the factors that affect ore grades
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
The successful candidate is responsible for:
- Monitors the ore grade delivered to the plant and investigates problem areas.
- Develops and updates Sampling standards.
- Monitors if all data captured on the MRM System is according to standard.
- Analyses sampling data and investigates non-conformances.
- Interprets sampling information and makes recommendations.
- Accepts sampling values from the Laboratory.
- Compiles Observation and Sampling reports
