PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To create an environment conducive to training by managing, directing, co-ordinating the Implats HRD strategic and operational requirements with regards to Engineering, Processing and Education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 or NQF 4 is essential
- HRD Diploma/Degree or related field is essential
- Relevant Trade/Metallurgical qualification is essential
- Minimum of 5 Years experience in a management position (Engineering/Processing HRD) is essential
- Valid Medical Certificate is essential or be medically fit to obtain such a certificate.
COMPETENCIES:
- Relevant legislation (Health & Safety, Skills & Development, EEA, and BCEA)
- Education, Training and Development methodologies
- Knowledge of design, information systems and development of learning materials
- Knowledge pertaining to specific discipline (Technical)
- Standards, rules, safe work methods, code of practices and procedures
- MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Communication skills
- Reporting skills
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Align the HRD (Engineering/Processing) with the Impala strategic objectives.
- Aligns all functions within the HRD department to Implats and legislative compliance/requirements.
- Manages the HRD department's annual budget with regards to Impala business plan imperatives.
- Manages the HRD information systems to ensure correct reporting.
- Manages and maintains the HRD certification and SETA & QCTO accreditation.
- Manages and controls all risk within the HRD training function.
- Manages the HRD verification of competence for contractor employees.
- Supports and participates in change management initiatives to drive transformation and optimisation.
- Provides relevant support to stakeholders to ensure team objectives are achieved.
- Adheres to safety regulations and mine standards, Railway Safety Regulator and Road transport management requirements procedures and practices and reports non-compliance.
