PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To provide Skills Development initiatives and continuously improve competency of our workforce to satisfy business needs and meet safety & legal requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 certificate (NQF Level 4) is essential
- Relevant Trade/WED and Banksman/Onsetter Certificate Engineering/Blasting certificate for Mining Conventional & Trackless/Metallurgy Skills Programmes Processing
- Relevant HR Diploma/Degree is desirable
- ISO 9001, Assessor and Moderator Certificate is essential
- Level 4 ETDP (TMM, Mining Conventional, and Design & Development) within 2 years of appointment is essential
- Minimum of 3 years working experience in relevant discipline, in the mining industry: Engineering: Artisan/Winding Engine Driver Mining: Shift Supervisor Metallurgy: Training Officer in a Mineral Processing environment, laboratory or sampling Mining TMM: 5 years experience in TMM environment is essential

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Ensures effective supervision of training staff.
- Ensures compliance with Impala standards, procedures and legal requirements (e.g. Mine Health & Safety Act.).
- Continuously revises current learning material.
- Designs and develops learning material.
- Coordinates planned skills development interventions.
- Ensures proper assessment processes which will include moderation.
- Attends HRD meetings where appropriate.
- Conducts skills development administration.
- Ensures effective theoretical, practical and on-the-job training and coaching of trainees.
- Conducts gap analysis and takes appropriate action to identify risks.
- Ensures that all work procedures are carried out in accordance with safety standards and practices.
