DEPARTMENT / DOMAIN: BMR – UTILITIES SITE

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To perform process control duties as per the section specific procedures to enable the section / plant to meet production targets with respect to time, quality, reduced frequency of errors and wastage reduction.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science.
  • Completed all BL modules and one Process Controller (B7) module in Utilities Site.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to read and write in English.
  • Computer literacy i.e. MS Office, SAP will be an added advantage.
  • Must be medically fit for BMR.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Carry out all tasks in accordance with the Utilities Site CPDP and works procedures.
  • Prepare equipment for repairs and maintenance, and issue safety permits when required.
  • Achieve section-specific production targets and promptly report and address production-related problems.
  • Conduct analysis, monitor purities and yields, and provide reports as necessary.
  • Ensure accurate documentation by updating log sheets and other required records within set timeframes and by end of shift.
  • Undertake modular training aligned with operational requirements within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Deliver on-the-job training for modules in which competency has been achieved, in line with CPDP guidelines.
  • Act as Process Controller in sections where relevant modules have been obtained.
  • Promote and maintain safety, environmental, quality, and security standards within the area of responsibility.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in the assigned work area.
