PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To provide an effective receiving & distribution of material to end users.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 (NQF level 4) certificate with (Accounting and Maths) is essential
- Logistics/Materials Management Certificate or NQF 5 equivalent is essential
- Computer literacy (MS Office Package) is essential.
- 3 years experience in the mining/finance environment is essential.
- SAP Materials module (PTP) is essential.
- Valid Medical certificate is essential or must be medically fit.
COMPETENCIES:
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Mines Health and Safety Act
- Demonstrate knowledge of materials and store keeping practices
- Demonstrate knowledge of material used in Mining
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Materials Management and Inventory Control
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Logistics and Distribution
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of basic Quality concepts
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Distributes Picking Slips to Issuers and allocates receiving to material handlers.
- Creates Stock Transfer Orders (STO's) on SAP (MRP).
- Allocates transport as per STO's and distributes to Yard and Warehouse.
- Allocates capturing of STO's and issue delivery documentation to drivers.
- Stock takes and process daily MRP runs
- Plans and Organises daily material dispatch to end-users underground.
- Forecasts in order to recommend placement of Purchase Orders with Suppliers for goods required.
- Places bulk/manual orders for items within controls of Physical Supply Chain Department.
- Identifies abnormal demand/changes in consumption patterns and initiate required maintenance.
- Assists end-users with Material related queries.
- Identifies and executes SAP master data/MRP settings.
- Checks on quality and accuracy of work.
- Maintains administrative systems and information.
- Expedites critical items for receiving and issues material.
- Checks on quality and accuracy of work.
- Ensures filing system is maintained.
- Maintains administrative systems and information.
- Expedites critical items.
- Places purchase orders through the SAP ERP system.
- Actions Purchase Requisitions.
- Ensures that all procurement policies and work procedures are followed and adhered to.
- Performs ad-hoc administrative filing as and when required
