PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To manage and oversee the procurement processes that ensures the constant availability of goods and services required in an efficient and effective manner whilst adhering to policies/procedures and setting targets for department achievement in line with the long-term objectives of the organization

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Supply Chain/Procurement Degree or NQF 7 Equivalent is essential
  • 4-6 years' experience in mining industry is essential
  • 2-4 years Procurement experience is essential
  • 2-3 years' experience on SAP/ SAP ARIBA is essential
  • Valid medical certificate or be medically fit to obtain such a certificate

KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS:

The successful candidate is responsible for:

  • Consciously evaluate transactional buying procedure and mitigate identified risks.
  • Manages transactional buying workflow.
  • Reviews and approves Marula Procurement Committee Meeting (MPCM) submissions.
  • Reviews and approves all tenders and site visits.
  • Develops and coaches employees within the Transactional Buying Department.
  • Delivers a service to all internal stakeholders regarding the full procurement process, off contract spend.
  • Monitors performance of daily buyers to ensure that purchase orders are placed within predetermined service levels.
  • Gives preference to transformed suppliers where appropriate and encourage current suppliers to transform in compliance with the Mining Charter.
  • Approves ad-hoc orders placed by transactional buyers to ensure the suitable commercial processes have been applied and is in line with the Marula approval framework.
  • Identifies and initiates repetitive spend items to be added to contract or administrate new contracts.
  • Compiles and reports weekly/monthly on KPIs as set out in Balance Scorecard
