DEPARTMENT: SERVICES - HRD

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To develop, implement and manage the HRD function by ensuring that all operational objectives are met through liaison between Line Management and HRD.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12/Std 10 (NQF Level 4) is essential
  • Technical Mining knowledge is essential.
  • Level 5 ETDP qualification is essential.
  • Assessor/Moderator qualification is advantageous.
  • Mine Overseer Certificate is essential.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office) is essential.
  • Minimum 3 years working experience, in a Supervisory position within the Mining environment is essential.
  • Valid medical certificate or be medically fit to obtain such a certificate.
  • ISO 9001 standards are advantageous.
  • Exposure to Mining Qualification Authority (MQA) and Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) will be considered an advantage.

  • Analysing and problem-solving skills
  • Labour management skills are essential
  • Leadership, Supervisory and motivational skills are essential
  • Ability to interact with people on different level is essential
  • Must be able to work under pressure and in short notice during Section 54s

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Assist with implementation of new technology by ensuring that employees acquire necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Assist line management by implementing effective ad hoc training interventions when identified (Follow-up training, Reporting & Recommendations)
  • Manage, control and ensure compliance within the ISO and SETA requirements.
  • Effectively manage and monitor all HRD systems.
  • Communicate all new and changed standards and procedures to employees and line management.
  • Conduct effective needs analysis with regards to client/line management processes and systems.
  • Manage additional training for the prevention and uplifting of section 54s.
  • Co-ordinate training related issues and any instructions and recommendations from the DMR.
  • Manage all trainees to ensure that the experiential training process is effective.
