Project Planning Manager

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To effectively manage activities, resources, dependencies and ultimately project outcomes by overseeing all major projects, project planning/schedules.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• BSc. Degree/B.Tech/Diploma e.g. QS, Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management is essential.
• PMP/PMI-SP is desirable.
• Minimum 5 years working experience in planning/scheduling is essential.
• 1-year mining projects experience is desirable.
• MS Office Package is essential.

COMPETENCIES:

• Project planning/scheduling
• MS Projects or Primavera
• Group planning/scheduling procedure
• Integration between estimating (budget) & scheduling
• Mine scheduling
• Project Scheduling

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Ensures proper project planning/schedule management is in place on major projects.
• Directs, manages and coordinates schedules on major projects.
• Ensures procedures are in place for proper project planning/scheduling.
• Assists and advise project planners.
• Ensures proper planning / schedules are in place up to package level with monthly updates into the master schedule.
• Ensures integration with mine planner and project planner/scheduler
• Reports on status of major project schedules.
• Interprets planning and costing information to be able to present an earned value status on the project.
• Timeously compiles and collates monthly progress reports.
• Ensures effective mentoring of project planners.
