PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To manage and control all receiving activities, including bulk receipts, in a safe, efficient, and professional manner by ensuring accurate verification, timely capturing of goods, proper record keeping, and secure handling of materials in support of uninterrupted plant operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 with a recognized NQF level 5 qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain essential.
  • Valid forklift licence essential.
  • Minimum of 2 - 3 years of relevant experience within a manufacturing, production environment, or warehouse.
  • Sound knowledge of best warehouse practises, inventory management, hazardous substances and safe handling of materials and equipment.
  • Strong communication- interpersonal- problem solving and organisational skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and customer focused.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office and SAP or similar systems).
  • Medically fit.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure accurate verification of supplier deliveries against purchase orders and capture all goods received timeously on SAP.
  • Manage and control all receiving activities, including bulk receipts, to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Direct incoming goods to correct offloading and designated storage areas, ensuring safe handling and safeguarding of materials.
  • Maintain accurate receiving records, documentation, and filing systems for audit and payment processing purposes.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies, including processing returns in line with procedures.
  • Ensure material handling equipment is in good working condition and operate forklift where required.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, and security within the receiving area, ensuring compliance with PPE and company policies.
  • Promote ethical conduct, professionalism, and adherence to company procedures at all times.
  • Support operational efficiency, standby duties, and continuous improvement initiatives within receiving and warehouse operations.
