PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To provide Skills Development initiatives and continuously improve competency of our workforce in order to satisfy business needs and meet safety & legal requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 / STD 10 certificate/ N3 qualification is essential.
- Valid Electrical Certificate (Section 13) or Equivalent is essential.
- 3 years working experience as Winder Electrical HT artisan is essential.
- Certificate- Education Training and Development qualification will be an advantage.
- Computer literacy (MS Office packages) is essential.
- Assessor and/or Moderator qualification will be an advantage.
- Completion of winder modules will be advantageous.
- Winder and Shaft experience will be a distinct advantage.
- Valid medical certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate is essential.
COMPETENCIES:
- Must have a good interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
- Facilitation skills and Presentation skills are essential
- Must have report writing and supervisory skills
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Ensure effective supervision of training staff.
- Ensure compliance with Impala standards, procedures and legal requirements (e.g. Mine Health & Safety Act.)
- Continuously revise current learning material.
- Design and develop learning material.
- Coordinate planned skills development interventions.
- Ensure proper assessment processes which will include moderation.
- Attend HRD meetings where appropriate.
- Conduct skills development administration.
- Ensure effective theoretical, practical and on-the-job training and coaching of trainees.
- Conduct gap analysis and take appropriate action to identify risks.
- Ensure that all work procedures are carried out in accordance with safety standards and practices.
