PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To provide Skills Development initiatives and continuously improve competency of our workforce in order to satisfy business needs and meet safety & legal requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 / STD 10 certificate is essential
  • N3 qualification is essential.
  • Relevant Winding Engineering Driver and Banksman/Onsetter certificate is essential.
  • Education: Training and Development qualification will be advantageous
  • 3 years working experience as a Technical Trainer is essential.
  • Computer Literacy (MS Office Package) is essential.
  • Assessor and/or Moderator qualification is essential.
  • Valid medical certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate

COMPETENCIES:

  • Must have a good interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
  • Facilitation skills and Presentation skills are essential
  • Must have report writing and supervisory skills

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Ensure effective supervision of training staff.
  • Ensure compliance with Impala standards, procedures and legal requirements (e.g. Mine Health & Safety Act.)
  • Continuously revise current learning material.
  • Design and develop learning material.
  • Coordinate planned skills development interventions.
  • Ensure proper assessment processes which will include moderation.
  • Attend HRD meetings where appropriate.
  • Conduct skills development administration.
  • Ensure effective theoretical, practical and on-the-job training and coaching of trainees.
  • Conduct gap analysis and take appropriate action to identify risks.
  • Ensure that all work procedures are carried out in accordance with safety standards and practices
