Draughtsman

This position will be part of the dynamic team based at Ngezi Mines, reporting to the Planning Foreman.

JOB TITLE Draughtsman

JOB GRADING C4

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• National Diploma in Draughting & Design Technology
• Thorough understanding of Draughting software such as AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Revit or Sketch Up
• Knowledge of GIS is an added advantage
• At least 3 years post qualification experience in the Mining or Heavy industry
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel
• Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills

• A solid understanding of technical drawing standards
• Demonstrated supervisory experience with strong communication skills
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create technical drawings based on given specifications and calculations including but not limited to layout plans, site plans, house plans and concept plans

• Edit technical draughts based on the recommendations of project engineers and architects

• Managing and archiving drawings, revisions, and approvals

• Management of project design communications including documentation control and project design reporting

• Converting engineers' sketches, concepts, or verbal instructions into formal plans

• Comprehensively reviewing and checking sketches and drawings for errors, before being sent to relevant departments and perform site visits to verify measurements and compliance with as-built conditions
