Material Supervisor

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To Supervise all activities in the Warehouse and ensure compliance with Company procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12/NQF Level 4 qualification with Accounting and Maths is essential
• National Diploma in Logistics or Materials Management is essential
• 2 years supervision experience within the Materials Management would be advantageous
• Operating SAP Materials module (PTP) is essential
• Computer Literacy (MS Office Package) is essential
• Knowledge of materials and store keeping practices is essential
• Knowledge of materials used in Mining is essential
• Knowledge and understanding of Materials Management and Inventory Control is essential
• Knowledge and understanding of Logistics and Distribution is essential

COMPETENCIES:

• Must have good interpersonal skills
• Must have good communication skills
• Be able to supervise stock counts
• Must have skill to control and locate stock

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Supervise all activities in the warehouse
• Monitor and control redundant/obsolete stock and waste
• Update information on planning and dash board daily
• Update the monthly review on a monthly basis
• Investigate Material non-conformances
• Reverse the Receipt of Goods in the event of a non-conforming deliveries
• Process Goods Returned to Suppliers
• Check unconfirmed receipts (on a daily basis)
• Resolve end user and supplier queries
• Prioritise material unavailability according to impact on the business
• Check that orders in the system are valid and have been received by the suppliers
• Resolve disputed orders (Price, Quality, Quantity, etc.) with Procurement
• Contact suppliers to expedite outstanding orders
• Provide feedback to end users on status of order and promised delivery date
