PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To train and assess mining technical skills according to the quality LDS principles, legislative req. and to facilitate theoretical, practical, and behavioural competencies to improve H&S and increase productivity according to the organisational needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 (NQF level 4) Certificate with English Literacy is essential
  • ETDP Certificate / NQF Level 3 and registered assessor and moderator certificate would be an Advantage
  • Valid First Aid Certificate is essential
  • Competent B and Blasting Assistant is essential
  • Minimum of 2 years underground experience in the Conventional Mining as an operator is essential
  • Valid medical certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate

COMPETENCIES:

  • Conventional Operator skill is essential
  • Training Processes and procedures knowledge is essential
  • Underground mining relevant legislative requirement
  • OEM certificate (suppliers of specific UG machinery and equipment) is desirable
  • Training Processes and procedures knowledge is essential

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Ensure that training is facilitated by applying HRD methodologies to achieve applied competence of learners that are able to perform according to the operational requirements.
  • Gather evidence according to ISO requirements within SAQA registered U/S and then coach according to the identified gaps through RPL assessment, gathering of evidence and formative assessment within the individual learners specific occupational requirements.
  • Effectively perform formative assessment to evaluate readiness of learner prior to summative assessment that determines applied competence of learners.
  • Complete the required documentation/Admin to ensure compete, valid, reliable, and authentic, and current POE for each Learner.
  • Ensure that training and facilitation of training interventions is executed effectively.
  • Conduct moderation practices to ensure quality of the learning output.
  • Facilitate the training of the required standards, procedures, rules, regulations, and new technology that will influence occupational readiness of learners.
