PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To perform process control duties as per the section-specific procedures to enable the section/plant to meet production targets with respect to time, quality, reduced frequency of errors and wastage reduction.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 with Maths and Science or ABET Level 4.
- Completed all Process Controller modules as per Ru/Pt CPDP.
- Knowledge of safety, environmental, security and quality procedures.
- Knowledge of risk assessment in the workplace.
- Good communication skills with the ability to read and write in English.
- Sound problem-solving, communication, supervisory and analytical skills are required.
- Computer literacy, i.e., MS Office and SAP.
- Sound knowledge of standard operating procedures to control a process from a panel or computer interface.
- Must be medically fit for the Platinum Metal Refinery.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry out all tasks associated with the Senior Process Controller, as per the Ru/PT Domain CPDP.
- Responsible for promoting and maintaining safety, environmental, housekeeping, quality, hygiene (for ventilation) and security standards in the area of work and plant awareness (for plant integrity).
- Prepare equipment for repairs and maintenance in line with work procedures and completion of breakdown sheets where applicable and in line with safety and security standards.
- Meet section-specific production targets (daily, weekly, and monthly) and attend to and report production-related problems.
- Conduct analysis, monitor purities, and yields and report where required.
- Schedule MAPS (update and complete active schedule activity forms) and SAP notifications
- Ensure that log sheets (and other required documentation) are updated accurately within set time limits.
- Conduct modular training in line with operational requirements within a reasonable time frame.
- Perform on-the-job training on the modules found competent as per CPDP guidelines.
- Supervise subordinates where required.
- Act in the absence of the supervisor.
