PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To perform process control duties as per the section-specific procedures to enable the section/plant to meet production targets with respect to time, quality, reduced frequency of errors and wastage reduction.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

    • NQF Level 4 (matric) with mathematics and science and/or a Process Controller who has passed one PMR Process Controller module.
    • Good communication skills with the ability to read and write in English.
    • Knowledge of plant-specific processes.
    • Knowledge of risk assessments in the workplace, including safety, environmental, security, and quality procedures.
    • Knowledge of company policies, standards, procedures and rules.
    • Knowledge of basic firefighting and first aid training.
    • Basic computer literacy with good communication and customer service skills.
    • Basic problem-solving and decision-making skills.
    • Interpersonal and teamwork skills.
    • Computer literacy, i.e., MS Office and SAP, will be an added advantage.
    • Must be medically fit for the Platinum Metal Refinery (PMR).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carry out all tasks associated with the Trainee Process Controller position as per the EPMR Primary Separations CPDP.
  • Ensure that work is carried out in compliance with work procedures.
  • Ensure that log sheets (and other required documentation) are updated accurately, conduct analyses, and monitor operations.
  • Responsible for promoting and maintaining safety, environmental, quality and security standards in the area of work.
  • Promote and maintain good housekeeping in areas of responsibility.
