PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To provide a professional management accounting service to shaft management and staff in order to improve efficiency, maximise profits and to supply meaningful, relevant and accurate information timeously as a tool for decision making.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 Certificate is essential.
  • Cost & Management Accounting Degree is essential.
  • Honours Degree and CIMA/SAICA/SAIPA Accredited is desirable.
  • Minimum 1-year relevant experience in a mining environment as a Junior Accountant is essential.
  • MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Provides user support and service to line and functional management by providing pro-active information to ensure timeous logistical supplies so that overall objectives are met.
  • Ensures adherence to and maintenance of the budgeting and forecasting system for accurate and timeous information.
  • Takes ownership of own career development and growth through keeping abreast with changes and development in the financial environment and the development of skills and competencies to ensure that dynamic job requirements are met.
  • Adheres to company's financial/accounting policies and procedures and ensures the implementation and maintenance of sufficient financial controls.
  • Ensures adherence to and maintenance of the internal financial control systems relating to the operational costs management.
  • Executes ad hoc investigation/evaluations or value adding projects as required from management and individual employee.
