PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To supervise the safe issuing/returns and repairs of Lamps, GDIs and SCSR's and to compile Lamproom Reports/Records to ensure legal compliance

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 /STD 10 is essential (External)
  • Grade 12 /STD 10 is advantageous (Internal)
  • Computer literacy (MS Office packages) is essential
  • 3 - 5 years experience as a Lampsman is essential
  • Lampsman Certificate issued by (DMPR) is essential
  • Acting role as a Lamproom Supervisor would be considered an advantage
  • Good knowledge of the Lamproom standards and MHSAct related to the Lamp room
  • Basic Knowledge of SAP system will be advantageous
  • Understanding of Lamproom equipment and tools.
  • Must be self-driven, highly motivated and able to work independently
  • Must have excellent organizing and administrative skills
  • The candidate must have good interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English (written and spoken)
  • Valid medical certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the effective and smooth operation of the lamp room.
  • Ensuring legal compliance in the lamp room.
  • Report to management on the status of the Lamproom equipment
  • Supervision of personal reporting to them
  • Participate in External and Internal Lamproom audits
  • Daily management and procurement of equipment and spares.
  • Assist in resolving the remuneration queries of personnel reporting to them
  • Plan and coordinate personnel leaves and shift work
  • Team motivation and encourage teamwork with Lamproom personnel
