PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To supervise the safe issuing/returns and repairs of Lamps, GDIs and SCSR's and to compile Lamproom Reports/Records to ensure legal compliance
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 /STD 10 is essential (External)
- Grade 12 /STD 10 is advantageous (Internal)
- Computer literacy (MS Office packages) is essential
- 3 - 5 years experience as a Lampsman is essential
- Lampsman Certificate issued by (DMPR) is essential
- Acting role as a Lamproom Supervisor would be considered an advantage
- Good knowledge of the Lamproom standards and MHSAct related to the Lamp room
- Basic Knowledge of SAP system will be advantageous
- Understanding of Lamproom equipment and tools.
- Must be self-driven, highly motivated and able to work independently
- Must have excellent organizing and administrative skills
- The candidate must have good interpersonal and leadership skills
- Must be able to communicate fluently in English (written and spoken)
- Valid medical certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the effective and smooth operation of the lamp room.
- Ensuring legal compliance in the lamp room.
- Report to management on the status of the Lamproom equipment
- Supervision of personal reporting to them
- Participate in External and Internal Lamproom audits
- Daily management and procurement of equipment and spares.
- Assist in resolving the remuneration queries of personnel reporting to them
- Plan and coordinate personnel leaves and shift work
- Team motivation and encourage teamwork with Lamproom personnel
