This position will be part of the dynamic team based at SMC Transport & Services reporting to the Services Foreman.

JOB TITLE – Artisan Class 1 Electrician

JOB GRADING – C4

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Apprenticeship trained Class 1 Electrician
• 5 O' level passes including Mathematics, Science and English Language
• National certificate in Electrical Power Engineering or equivalent
• At least 5 years' post-apprenticeship experience in a mining or heavy engineering environment
• A clean class 4 drivers' license
• Experience in high voltage cable joining and terminations, reticulation installations, switching and maintenance
• Knowledge of planned, preventative and predictive maintenance systems
• Experience in Alstom HV circuit breakers and Siemens Drives is an added advantage

• Knowledge of the Business Management System (BMS)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain 33kV electrical reticulation networks, fixed plant, and associated equipment to ensure reliable operations

Inspect, maintain, and test safety devices and systems to safeguard personnel and equipment

Execute electrical maintenance and project activities in compliance with statutory requirements, engineering standards, and approved work procedures

Support and actively implement the Company's Business Management System (BMS) requirements and continuous improvement initiatives
