PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To supervise and assist the team in the safe execution of all electrical activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 (NQF level 4) is essential
- Recognized relevant Trade Certificate (section 13/26D) plus NTC2 is essential.
or
- Proof or recognised completed apprenticeship contract (completed by means of effluxion of time) AND NTC 2 (Relevant Trade Theory) Qualification is essential.
- Minimum of 5 years experience as an Artisan on conveyor belts in the trackless section is essential
- Computer literacy (MS Office Package) is essential.
- Safety Knowledge.
- Enrolment or Completion of the Impala foreman development modules is essential.
- Valid medical certificate or must be medically fit to obtain such a certificate.
COMPETENCIES:
- Engineering drawings, tools & Measuring Instruments.
- People Supervision.
- Planning, Leadership and Organizing Skills.
- Control (Budget, Spares, etc.)
- Legal knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act is essential.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Supervise electrical maintenance activities.
- Maintain and assist electrical workshop, stores, and substation.
- Attend to callouts with regards to electrical breakdowns.
- Control and order of stock for all parts, equipment and materials required.
- Construct and commission low/medium High voltage networks.
- Install and commission single phase AC and three phase AC machines and control gear.
- Inspect maintain, repair, and do fault-finding on Medium /high voltage network.
- Inspect electrical main substations.
- Trouble shooting on Programmable logic controllers.
- Operate on low voltage networks.
- Write Technical reports.
