PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To translate financial accounting from operation into operation reports for internal and external use and to monitor current operation performances
and provide financial systems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Accounting Degree or NQF 7 Equivalent is essential
- 3 Years supervisory experience in a mining environment is essential
- 5 Years supervisory experience in a mining environment is desirable
- Advanced computer skills (MS Office, SAP Systems) are essential

- Knowledge of mine financial systems and related legislation
- Interpersonal skills
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Coordinates planning process e.g. compiles a timetable which ensures that Shafts etc. will meet on-mine and
- corporate due dates.
- Coordinates with relevant parties to establish planning standards/parameters in terms of cost.
- Coordinates zero based budgeting principals to be applied by shafts/services as well as the system and
- spreadsheets to be used for budget calculation.
- Assist with standard BPC inputs, e.g. Stores rates/standards, etc.
- Performs reconciliation of BPC data to source data, e.g. production data, labour, and Shared Services account.
- Performs trend analysis on current actual to latest forecast and budgeted data.
- Performs sanity check on interdependent metrics and compliance to approved parameters/standards.
- Verifies completeness of reconciliation of the approved budget to approved LTP and quality of relevant comments.
- Ensures that processes are established and standardized to allow for cost control.
- Ensure budgets are distributed to cost centre owners once budget is approved.
- Manages outstanding commitments.
- Interprets actual trends and forecast accordingly.
- Conducts quality review of month end and periodic reports as well as consolidation.
- Monitor Teams efficiencies and report variances for early intervention.
- Identifies and recommends initiatives aimed at eliminating waste, improving productivity and reducing operating costs within scope and assists with the implementation thereof to contribute to the achievement of operational objectives.
