PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To create an environment conducive to training by managing, directing, co-ordinating the Impala HRD strategic and operational requirements with regards to Mining and Education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree or Diploma in HRD or related field is essential
- Engineering Trade certificate is essential
- Minimum of 5 years experience in management position (Engineering HRD) is essential
- Valid Medical Certificate or medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate
COMPETENCIES:
- Relevant legislation (Health & Safety, Skills Development, EEA and BCSA is essential
- Education, Training and Development methodologies are essential
- Knowledge of design, information systems and development of learning materials are essential
- Knowledge pertaining to specific discipline (Technical and mining) is essential
- Knowledge of mine standards, rules, safe work methods, code of practices and procedures are essential
- Knowledge of mining information systems and risk management systems are essential
- Computer, communication, consultation and reporting skills are essential
- Planning, Organising, Leading and Controlling skills are essential
- Technical, Financial management and Employee relation skills are essential
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Align the HRD (Mining) with the Implats strategic objectives.
- Align all functions within the HRD department to Implats and legislative compliance/ requirements.
- Manage the HRD departments annual budget with regards to Implats business plan imperatives
- Manage HRD information systems to ensure correct reporting.
- Manage and maintain the HRD certification and SETA & QCTO accreditation
- Manage and control all risks within the HRD training function
- Manage the HRD verification of competence for contractor employees
