Situated in Springs, Gauteng, Implats is a leading mining and refining company committed to transformation, skills development, and building future artisanal talent. This learnership is designed to equip you with the practical skills, workplace exposure, and certification required to qualify as a Boilermaker Artisan.
PROGRAMME OVERVIEW
- Programme duration: 42 months
- Commencement date: August 2026
- Department: Human Resources – Training and Development
- Closing date: 11 March 2026
This structured learnership leads to a Boilermaker Trade Test Certificate, conducted under the auspices of the Mining Qualification Authority (MQA).
WHAT YOU WILL GAIN:
As an Engineering Learner – Boilermaking, you will:
- Receive structured on-the-job training in a real industrial environment
- Develop a solid understanding of fabrication, maintenance, and repair practices
Gain exposure to:
- Structural steel fabrication and installation
- Maintenance and repair of plant equipment
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
Learn to work safely and efficiently in a production-driven mining and refinery environment
Build a strong foundation for long-term career growth in the engineering sector
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered, you must have:
- A completed N2 or NCV Level 4 Certificate in Boilermaking
- N2 subjects must include Mathematics, Engineering Science, Structural Steel Drawing, Plater Trade Theory
- A basic understanding of boilermaking trade principles
- Medical fitness to work at both BMR and PMR plants
