PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To supervise the Draughting team and administration of Survey Draughting.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12/STD 10/ NQF Level 4 is essential
- Surveyor Draughting Certificate is essential.
- Advanced Draughting Certificate is desirable.
- Basic Surveyor Certificate is desirable.
- 3 years Cad Administration is experience is essential.
- 1-year experience in coordinating mine survey draughting functions is essential.
- Micro Station, Auto CAD, CadsMine experience is desirable.
COMPETENCIES:
- Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act, regulations, and definitions
- Understanding of legislation and compliance in the Mining and Mineral Sector
- Demonstrate an understanding of drawing office orientation.
- Knowledge of regulations, codes and drawing office practices
- Demonstrate Basic understanding of different activities related to mining of minerals.
- Demonstrate an understanding of measuring instruments and produce free hand drawing
- Understanding of Surveying processes as if affects the drawings.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Maintains and updates Mining Rights, Surface Rights Application, Land Use plans.
- Coordinates and conducts CAD training.
- Conduct drawing office administration and plan drawing layouts.
- Sets up and maintain file structures.
- Compiles and updates Draughting COP's.
- Assists in the preparation of Annual reports.
- Plans and schedules workflow.
- Establishes client requirements and gathers and applies required design information.
- Transfers information into the graphic environment and overseer subordinate activities.
- Sets up and prepares 3D model space and produces 3D models.
- Follows specifications and calculations to create various technical drawings.
- Prepares both rough sketches and detailed work with CAD systems.
- Performs calculations for materials and weight limitations.
- Communicates with architects and engineers, and incorporates knowledge gained into drawings.
- Prepares, reviews and redrafts alongside the engineering team.
- Ensures final designs are compliant with building regulations.
- Identifies and communicates potential design problems to the rest of the team.
