Electrical Serviceman Concentrator

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To safely inspect and maintain low voltage electrical equipment and machinery.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 /Std 10 (NQF 4) is essential
• Electrical Serviceman Certificates is essential.
• Minimum of 1year working experience as an Engineering Assistant in a Processing environment is essential.
• Valid Medical certificate or medically fit to obtain such a certificate.

COMPETENCIES:

• Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
• Must have knowledge with regard to fundamentals of electricity.
• Must understand the uses and safety aspect associated with flammable energy sources.
• Must be able to identify, inspect, use, maintain and care for engineering hand tools.
• Must be able to select, use and care for engineering measuring equipment.
• Must be able to select, use and care for electrical measuring instruments.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Install and testing batteries for dead cells and replacing defective batteries.
• Clean battery-bay area, checking and charging batteries.
• Maintain battery record systems.
• Inspect, operate, and maintain high mast lighting structures.
• Identify, inspect, and clean electrical machines.
• Test and inspect single phase domestic installations.
• Maintain and repair single phase and three phase AC machines and control gears.
• Conduct fault finding, test and repair domestic appliances.
