POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position will be part of the dynamic team based at Ngezi Concentrator reporting to the Transport Foreman.

JOB TITLE –Diesel Plant Fitter Class 1

JOB GRADING – C4

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Apprenticeship trained Class 1 Artisan Diesel Plant Fitter
• 5 O levels including Mathematics, Science and English Language
• A clean class 2 drivers licence

• A recognised relevant technical qualification or National Certificate/diploma or City and Guilds Part 3
• 5 years post-apprenticeship experience in maintenance of mining/processing equipment in a heavy-duty engineering environment

• Knowledge and experience in repairing and servicing of mobile equipment, trucks and buses, experience in repairing and servicing petrol vehicles will be an added advantage
• Knowledge of the Business Management System (BMS), ISO 9001 and ISO14001

LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES:

• A self-starter with good communication, interpersonal, organisational, planning and problem-solving skills
• Supervisory skills

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Carrying out routine and scheduled maintenance work

• Servicing of heavy-duty vehicles, generators and mobile equipment

• Providing supervision and enforcing standards as per statutory requirements and standard work procedures

• Supporting and implementing the Business Management System (BMS)
