About the job Safety Administrator
PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To provide operational administrative and system support to the Safety, Health and Environment function through effective management, monitoring, and maintenance of SHE systems. To ensure accurate statutory reporting, safety statistics, investigation tracking, and injured person follow-up in line with legislative and operational requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent is essential.
- Safety Management, SHE or Administration Certificate or Diploma is essential.
- 1-3 years Safety, Health and Environmental administrative or systems experience is essential.
- Experience in Safety data capturing and reporting is essential
- Experience working on Cura, SAMRASS, OCR, Syncromine, SAP, Power BI and Safety is essential
- ISO 14001 certificate is essential.
- ISO 45001/OHSAS 18001 Certificate of Competence is essential
- OHSAS 18001/ISO 9001 Certificate of Competence is essential
- ISO 45001/OHSAS Certificate of Competence is essential.
- MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential.
COMPETENCIES:
- Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act and SAMRASS requirements
- Understanding of Section 11.5 investigations and statutory reporting
- Knowledge of SHE management systems and audits
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Management and administration of SHE systems including CURA, OCR, Syncromine, SAP, and Safety Databases (Statistics)
- Performs all administration tasks required to meet legislative and operational requirements.
- Captures and maintains SAMRASS reports on the CURA system in accordance with legal timeframes.
- Captures, updates, and administers Section 11.5 investigation reports on the CURA system.
- Tracks investigation progress, findings, and corrective actions to closure.
- Updates and maintains registers, risk factors, corrective actions, user access, HR system integration and catalogues.
- Always ensures data integrity, accuracy, and completeness.
- Generates and distributes reliable management and statutory reports as required.
- Provides system support and guidance to end users.
- Practices document control according to operational and legislative standards.
- Prepares Safety Meeting Presentations.
