PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To develop, implement and manage the HRD function by ensuring that all operational objectives are met through liaison between Line Management and HRD.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 / Std 10 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent is essential
  • Technical Engineering Knowledge is essential
  • Assessor/Moderator Certificate is essential
  • Trade Certificate is essential.
  • ETDP Level 5 Qualification is essential
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in a supervisory position within Engineering environment is essential
  • Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office Package) is essential
  • Exposure in Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) and Quality Council for trade and occupations (QCTO)will be considered an advantage.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge of the Mine Health & Safety Act
  • Presentation and Facilitation skills
  • Analyzing and problem-solving skills
  • Labour management skills are essential
  • Leadership, Supervisory and motivational skills are essential
  • Ability to interact with stakeholders on different level is essential
  • Must be able to work under pressure and in short notice during Section 54s

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with implementation of new technology by ensuring that employees acquire necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Assist line management by implementing effective adhoc training interventions when identified (Follow-up training, Reporting & Recommendations)
  • Manage, control and ensure compliance within the ISO and SETA requirements.
  • Effectively manage and monitor all HRD systems.
  • Communicate all new and changed standards and procedures to employees and line management.
  • Conduct effective needs analysis with regards to client/line management processes and systems.
  • Manage additional training for the prevention and uplifting of section 54s.
  • Co-ordinate training related issues and any instructions and recommendations from the DMR.
  • Manage all trainees to ensure that the experiential training process is effective
