Employment Type: Full-Time | Hybrid
Compensation: $65,000 – $90,000 per year, based on experience

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Law Clerk to join their growing firm in Downtown Toronto. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with exposure to complex litigation matters.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, draft, and revise legal documents, including Applications, Separation Agreements, Parenting Plans, Pleadings, Affidavits, Financial Statements, Net Family Property Statements, and Conference Briefs.
  • Manage file opening and closing procedures in accordance with firm protocols and Law Society of Ontario requirements.
  • Maintain and organize client files (electronic and hard copy), ensuring accuracy and completeness at all times.
  • Serve as a key liaison between lawyers, clients, opposing counsel, and external professionals.
  • Schedule meetings, court appearances, deadlines, and manage calendars for assigned lawyers.
  • Monitor file progress and ensure all internal and court deadlines are met.
  • Accurately docket time and maintain billing records using Clio.
  • Provide administrative and litigation support as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Law Clerk supporting a litigation-focused practice (family law experience is a strong asset).
  • Solid understanding of court procedures, deadlines, and file management.
  • ILCO Certification or an LSO-approved Paralegal License is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the Family Law Rules and related legal documentation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a proven ability to manage multiple files accurately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including handling sensitive client matters with professionalism.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • High proficiency with legal technology; experience with Clio and DivorcePath is an asset.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and adaptable
