About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Cash Applications Analyst to join our finance team. The Cash Applications Analyst will be responsible for applying incoming payments to customer accounts accurately and timely, reconciling discrepancies, and ensuring smooth accounts receivable (AR) processes. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, knowledge of financial systems, and experience in cash application or AR functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and apply customer payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit cards) to accounts receivable.

  • Reconcile payment discrepancies, short payments, deductions, and unapplied cash.

  • Work closely with collections, billing, and customer service teams to resolve payment-related issues.

  • Research and identify unidentified or misapplied cash receipts.

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on cash application activities.

  • Assist in month-end closing, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, SOX controls, and accounting standards.

  • Support process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in cash applications.

  • Communicate with banks, customers, and internal stakeholders to ensure proper allocation of payments.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Cash Applications Analyst, AR Specialist, or in a similar finance role.

  • Strong knowledge of accounts receivable, cash application, and reconciliation processes.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Minimum 24 years of experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or finance operations.

  • Experience in a shared services or multinational environment (preferred).
