Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and ensure the safety of children during after-school hours.

  • Plan and lead age-appropriate activities including arts & crafts, games, STEM projects, and literacy enrichment.

  • Provide academic support, including homework help and tutoring when needed.

  • Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants.

  • Manage behavior using positive discipline strategies and support social-emotional growth.

  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding student progress and behavior.

  • Maintain accurate attendance records and incident reports.

  • Set up and clean activity spaces, ensuring materials and supplies are well maintained.

  • Participate in staff training, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED (required).

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field (preferred or in progress).

Experience:

  • 1+ year of experience working with children in an educational, recreational, or camp setting.

Skills:

  • Strong classroom management and group leadership skills.

  • Creativity in planning engaging and inclusive activities.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

Preferred Attributes:

  • Bilingual (especially in Spanish, Mandarin, or other community languages) is a plus.

  • Familiarity with child development or behavior management techniques.

  • Passion for working with diverse children and communities.
