About the job Accounting Director
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, tax, and financial reporting.

Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.

Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure data integrity and financial compliance.

Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Collaborate with the CFO to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning efforts.

Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international tax regulations.

Monitor and analyze accounting data, and produce financial reports or statements as needed.

Manage and mentor a team of accountants, fostering professional development and performance.

Oversee financial systems upgrades or implementations.

Liaise with external partners such as auditors, banks, and tax consultants.
Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Masters degree preferred).

CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification required.

Minimum 810 years of progressive experience in accounting, including 3+ years in a leadership role.

Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, tax laws, and financial regulations.

Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.

Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:

Experience in accounting (e.g., healthcare, manufacturing, tech).

Knowledge of international financial operations and consolidation.

Familiarity with SOX compliance (if applicable).
