Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all operations within the boat service department, including maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and inspections.

Lead, train, and motivate a team of marine technicians, mechanics, and support staff.

Schedule and prioritize service work based on urgency, availability, and customer commitments.

Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer standards, safety regulations, and company policies.

Communicate with customers regarding service needs, estimates, timelines, and updates.

Manage inventory of parts, tools, and equipment, coordinating with suppliers and parts departments.

Maintain detailed service records, invoices, and work orders using service management software.

Monitor department performance metrics such as turnaround time, customer satisfaction, and service revenue.

Resolve customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally.

Stay updated on the latest marine technologies, manufacturer guidelines, and compliance regulations.

Collaborate with sales and warranty departments to ensure smooth transitions and post-sale service.
Qualifications:

Proven experience in marine service management or similar technical leadership role.

Strong technical knowledge of marine engines, electrical systems, hull maintenance, and diagnostics.

Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.

Customer-focused with a commitment to high-quality service.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service bulletins.

Proficiency in service management or dealership software (e.g., DockMaster, Lightspeed, or similar).

Certifications from marine manufacturers (e.g., Yamaha, Mercury, Volvo Penta) are a plus.

Valid driver's license (and boating license if applicable).
