Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze loan applications, credit reports, financial statements, and other supporting documents.

  • Assess applicants' creditworthiness and financial risk using established underwriting guidelines.

  • Prepare credit memos and recommendations for loan approvals or denials.

  • Monitor existing loan accounts for compliance, payment trends, and risk factors.

  • Communicate with applicants to clarify financial information or request additional documentation.

  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and in compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Collaborate with loan officers, underwriters, and credit committees as needed.

  • Assist in the development and refinement of risk assessment models and processes.

  • Maintain and update loan files and systems with accurate records.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.

  • Proven experience in loan processing, credit analysis, or underwriting (typically 13 years).

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.

  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of banking regulations, lending practices, and credit risk analysis.

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with loan origination systems (e.g., Encompass, Finastra, etc.).

  • Familiarity with consumer, commercial, or mortgage lending processes.

  • Professional certification such as CFA, CPA, or similar is a plus.
