About the job Cargo Agent
Key Responsibilities:

Process inbound and outbound cargo shipments, ensuring accurate documentation and labeling.

Coordinate with airlines, freight forwarders, customs, and warehouse teams to ensure timely cargo handling.

Verify and process airway bills (AWBs), bills of lading, and other relevant shipping documentation.

Monitor cargo inventory and maintain accurate records in the cargo management system.

Ensure proper cargo handling procedures, including temperature control, hazardous materials, and special cargo.

Assist in customs clearance procedures by preparing and verifying required documentation.
-
Resolve customer issues and provide updates on shipment status when necessary.

Ensure safety, security, and compliance with IATA, TSA, and local regulations.

Perform cargo build-up and breakdown, packaging, and palletizing when required.

Maintain cleanliness and organization in cargo storage areas.
Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent (required); associate degree or certification in logistics or a related field (preferred).

Prior experience in cargo, freight forwarding, logistics, or airline operations (13 years preferred).

Familiarity with cargo handling systems and procedures.

Basic understanding of customs and regulatory requirements.

Ability to lift and handle heavy cargo (manual handling involved).

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Proficient in MS Office and cargo tracking software.

Flexibility to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:

IATA Dangerous Goods Certification.

Knowledge of import/export regulations.
-
Experience with cargo scanning and security procedures.
