Key Responsibilities:

Academic Leadership:

  • Provide vision and leadership for curriculum development, academic policies, and instructional standards.

  • Ensure academic programs meet accreditation and regulatory standards.

  • Promote innovative teaching methods and use of technology in instruction.

Faculty Oversight:

  • Recruit, evaluate, mentor, and support faculty and academic staff.

  • Facilitate faculty development and performance reviews.

  • Ensure compliance with faculty workload, promotion, and tenure policies.

Program Development and Evaluation:

  • Oversee development, implementation, and assessment of academic programs.

  • Lead academic planning and program review processes.

  • Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and new program initiatives.

Student Success:

  • Support student learning, retention, and completion initiatives.

  • Address academic concerns and grievances in coordination with faculty and student services.

Strategic Planning and Budgeting:

  • Develop and manage the academic budget for the division.

  • Participate in institutional planning and policy-making.

  • Align academic priorities with institutional goals and available resources.

Partnerships and Outreach:

  • Collaborate with other deans, departments, and external partners.

  • Represent the school/division in institutional committees and community events.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Doctorate or terminal degree in a relevant academic discipline.

  • Minimum 57 years of academic leadership experience (e.g., department chair, associate dean).

  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching, scholarship, and service.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience with accreditation processes.

  • Familiarity with institutional effectiveness and assessment strategies.

  • Proven ability to lead change and manage diverse teams.
