Key Responsibilities

Advise students on academic programs, degree requirements, course selection, registration, and institutional policies.

Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records using advising software and student information systems.

Assist with orientation programs and first-year experience initiatives.

Provide targeted support to students on academic probation or those at risk.

Guide students through transfer or graduate school processes if applicable.

Collaborate with faculty and campus departments to support student success.

Stay current on institutional changes, academic policies, and advising best practices.

Participate in professional development opportunities and advising-related committees.
Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in education, counseling, psychology, or related field (Masters preferred).

13 years of experience in academic advising, student services, or higher education.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Familiarity with student information systems (e.g., Banner, PeopleSoft) and advising tools (e.g., DegreeWorks, Starfish).

Commitment to diversity, equity, and student-centered advising.
Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree in higher education administration, counseling, or a related field.

Experience working with diverse student populations, including first-generation college students.

Knowledge of academic policies, curriculum structures, and student development theory.
